Every few months the horses of Axe & Root Homestead have new shoes custom created and fitted for their hooves. Rather than throw out their worn and used shoes, I’ve been collecting these massive Clydesdale horseshoes for a while. These size 8 horseshoes have been worn and are now ready to bring good luck to whomever hangs them above their doorway. These shoes are heavy and built to last—and they have a gorgeous natural patina that only the steps of a 2,000lb horse can create.
